We’re excited to kick off our Toy Drive and will be collecting items until December 12th!
We are hosting our annual toy drive this holiday season for the Weirton Christian Center! Last year, we received so many generous donations benefiting the children in the Weirton community and are looking forward to spreading more joy to them this year.
Dr. Alex grew up in Weirton and has some incredible memories of the people in the community. Since the steel mills have reduced their workforce, the community has been impacted, and the Weirton Christian Center works hard to make the holidays a little extra special for deserving kids they serve.
The Benefits of Play
Play is an integral part of a child’s life, allowing them to spark their imagination and creativity. Children use play to understand the world around them and, most importantly, play is meant to be fun and help a child simply be a child.
Unfortunately, many families aren’t able to afford toys and their children don’t have access to age-appropriate toys that can help them with learning and development. Toy donations are a great way to help families give their children toys they aren’t able to afford otherwise.
Where to Find Quality Toys
Dr. Alexandra S. George DDS and the Pittsburgh Dentist team like to support the community and buy from other local businesses. If you’re local to Pittsburgh, feel free to support a nearby toy store or simply drop your gift off at the office for convenience. Last year, Dr. Alex and her team enjoyed a heartwarming trip to pick out hundreds of gifts, knowing each would bring joy to a child on Christmas Day.
